Stellar Data Recovery sees orders in Europe increase by 17 percent

London, 21 December 2011 – The number of orders for data recovery in the Netherlands in 2011 has increased by 15%. At European level, the number of orders for Stellar Data Recovery has even increased by 17%.

On the one hand, the increase in the number of jobs can partially be explained by the large amount of successfully recovered data. This globally operating data recovery specialist has saved data for no less than 90-95% of their European orders.

“We have achieved one of the highest recovery rates ever and this is still on the rise as we continue to refine our techniques. At Stellar Data Recovery, we make sure we meticulously keep our businesses, such as the laboratory in Utrecht, the Netherlands, up-to-date, and we only work with state-of-the-art equipment,” says Chief Operations Officer Kees Jan Meerman.

“On the other hand, companies and IT professionals are more familiar with us now and they know how to find Stellar Data Recovery more easily. However, the number of data recovery jobs is increasing as a result of the fact that the amount of data is still on the rise, it has become increasingly important, and more and more people are involved. Consequently, our top three list of causes only contains human error. ”

Top 3 causes

Number three is not having a backup for the external hard drive. This is especially common with small businesses and individuals. Number two is the wrong configuration or ignorance in the recovery of a RAID configuration. The leading cause is that problematic hard drives in a RAID configuration are not being renewed on time.

Meerman says, “Restoring RAID systems requires highly specialized knowledge, which cannot be expected of an average system operator. They do their best when something goes wrong, but more often it is better and less expensive if a specialist is called in before the damage is permanent.”

SLA

Therefore, Meerman often advises companies to enter into a Service Level Agreement (SLA). “If something goes wrong, we are immediately available in order to get things started. Pricing, method of delivery and other practical matters have already been agreed upon, so there is no need to worry about those things. That means that all those involved can focus on one thing: retrieval of the data. This is a much more effective way to deal with the issues, and it also increases the chances to get the data back. It is not without reason that we return to our lab the same day in order to get started on the job.
